Over 10,000 roof renovations carried out using KINGI® roofing screws is an impressive figure, and dozens more of these properly fixed roofs are completed every day. And this is just the beginning. Our aim is for all metal roofs in Finland to be fixed in accordance with building regulations. No more non-compliant screws and rust – just metal roofs fixed with durable roofing screws. We believe that the quality of construction in Finland will improve, one roof at a time.

According to building regulations, the lawful installation of a metal roof requires that the roofing screws have the same level of corrosion resistance as the roofing sheets. This means that, in accordance with the standard for the installation of metal roofs (SFS-EN 1090-2), in the C3climate exposure class, the roofing sheet must be fastened with C3- or C4-approved roofing screws offering at least the same level of corrosion resistance – of which there is only one type available in Finland.

Fortunately, there is one such product on the market that meets the current regulations for fixing metal roofing. The KINGI® roofing screw, manufactured in Nurmijärvi, is the only C4-approved painted carbon steel screw that meets the requirements of the standard governing the installation of metal roofs. We have also made it easier to comply with the regulations by producing a screw that is easier and quicker to install than others. When installing KINGI® roofing screws, no drill shavings or scratches are left on the surface of the sheet metal, which means that the sheet metal’s warranty and appearance are preserved.

We believe that all contractors would like to install roofs that comply with the regulations. Unfortunately, there is a lot of misinformation circulating about roofing screws and their approvals, which leads to high-quality metal sheets being installed in breach of regulations using single-coat painted, using roofing screws suitable only for indoor use, which rust far too quickly.

We want to do our bit to ensure that construction quality issues arising from misinformation are eradicated from the market. Join us in this effort by finding out the facts and sharing them.
