KINGI® four-way valve
– three innovations that guarantee a long service life
KINGI® roofing screw is not just a fastener. It is a combination of corrosion resistance, improved installability, refined design and high-quality manufacturing – designed to last as long as the best steel roofs.
The unique durability of the KINGI® roofing screw does not arise by chance. It is the result of decades of product development and three innovations that together make it the most durable painted roofing screw on the market.

Durabl3 coating
The world’s only three-layer-coated roofing screw.
A regular painted roofing screw has a single-layer coating: only topcoat over the zinc plating. It is not enough. KINGI®’s Durabl3 coating consists of three layers over the zinc plating:
- Electroplating 12 μm – basic metal protection
- Silane pretreatment layer – ensures primer adhesion to the steel
- Primer 60 μm – increases corrosion resistance and improves topcoat adhesion
- Topcoat 60 μm – UV and weather protection, colour shade
Overall, this means a clearly thicker and more durable coating than on painted carbon steel screws available elsewhere on the market. Durabl3 also withstands the mechanical stress caused by installation, provided that the screw is installed with KINGI®’s specially dimensioned installation socket (AV 8.27 mm), which is specifically designed to protect the coating during installation. A thicker paint layer requires a larger wrench opening, and the higher head also requires the magnet to be set deeper than in a normal 8 mm installation socket.
The corrosion resistance of the Durabl3 coating has been demonstrated both in the HAMK Thin Sheet Centre’s 1,000-hour salt spray test and in the official ETA-25/0267 assessment procedure: approved for atmospheric corrosion category C4 – the most severe urban and industrial environment, where a high durability class (H) is required.
Why this benefits you:
- Installer: the screw’s topcoat is not damaged during installation
- Building owner: no replacement of roofing screws before maintenance or replacement of the sheet metal roof
- Designer: documented C4 suitability ready (ETA and DoP), no separate assessments
Technical specifications in brief:
Coating structure: zinc plating + silane + primer + topcoat
Total thickness (paint): 120 μm (primer + topcoat)
Zinc plating: 12 μm electroplating
Approved atmospheric corrosion category: C4 (H) – ETA-25/0267
Patent: International patent (painting method)

CrownD crown head
Unique and recognisable design.
The head of a roofing screw is its most vulnerable point. It is exposed to rain, sunlight, temperature fluctuations and the mechanical strain of installation. The flat head of an ordinary screw collects water and continuously loads the coating.
The head of a KINGI® screw is not flat. The CrownD design directs rainwater away from the top of the head, reducing strain on the coating and the risk of corrosion. The rounded corners ensure sufficient coating thickness also at the points most exposed to wear, where other screws rust first.
The second function of the CrownD head is functional: the design fits precisely into KINGI®’s installation socket. The socket grips the head securely and does not slip during installation, which protects the coating. The result: flawless installation and an intact coating.
Thirdly, the CrownD head is also KINGI®’s visual trademark: the design, protected by a registered design, distinguishes the legal screw on the roof at a glance. A building inspector recognises the approved fastener at a single glance.
How this benefits you:
- Installer: stable installation, no slipping sockets
- Inspector: the legal screw stands out from the roof at first glance
- Owner: At least as long a service life as the sheet metal roofing

FastFX quick bit
Drills through at lightning speed – and leaves a tight hole, not chips.
The tip of a roofing screw is crucial at the time of installation. A slow and poor-quality tip scratches the roofing sheet and may leave steel chips on the roof – which begin to rust immediately and can also damage the sheet over the years.
The FastFX quick bit was developed to solve these problems: it drills through the sheet at lightning speed – also at the overlap seam – without scratches and exactly in the right place. The intelligently designed tip thread significantly reduces loose metal chips generated during drilling. The result is a cleaner installation, better tightness and a roof with no rusting chips left behind on the day of installation.
Why this benefits you:
- Installer: faster installation, no scratches, no need for touch-up paint
- Owner: no loose, rusting steel chips on the roof and no scratches on the sheet

Designed and manufactured in Finland
KINGI® is a Finnish innovation manufactured mainly in Finland by Kingi – not a bulk product off the shelf.
KINGI® roofing screw is a Finnish innovation developed by Kingi Oy, the result of decades of product development. The goal was a roofing screw that lasts as long as the best steel roofs, and no such product was available off the shelf – so it was made in-house, using KINGI®’s own methods.
Most of the manufacturing is carried out in Finland. From abroad, only those semi-finished products and raw materials that are not available in Finland are sourced. The Durabl3 coating, which is decisive for corrosion resistance, is made in Nurmijärvi, on the world’s first Durabl3 coating line.
The entire manufacturing chain is ISO 9001:2015 certified, and quality is continuously monitored through tests conducted by an external research institute. KINGI® has been awarded the Key Flag: choosing it brings jobs and well-being to Finland.
Why this benefits you:
- Installer: consistently high-quality, predictably installing screw from one batch to another
- Owner: domestic and traceable fastener, with support available from Finland
- Designer: certified, documented domestic production (ISO 9001)
