Terms related to CE marking

CE (Conformité Européenne)

The CE marking is intended to facilitate the free movement of goods in the EU internal market. By affixing the marking, the manufacturer declares that the properties of the construction product comply with a European harmonised standard or a European Technical Assessment (ETA). Testing one property is sufficient to obtain the CE marking. CE is not a quality mark and alone does not guarantee the product’s suitability for use in a construction project. The product’s suitability for use in a construction project must always be assessed separately based on the intended use, local conditions and the requirements of building regulations.

ETA (European Technical Assessment)

TAB (Technical Assessment Body)

ETAG (ETA Guideline)

CUAP (Common Understanding of Assessment Procedure)
