KINGI® does not scratch the surface of the sheet metal
Kymen Kattokeskus Oy tested the KINGI® roofing screw to see how it performs in real situations. The installation site was a detached house built in the 1970s, whose roof has two different pitches: two slightly shallower slopes and two slightly steeper ones.
– A complete roof renovation was carried out on the approximately 200-square-metre roof. The old roof was dismantled and replaced with a new roof with ventilation gaps and underlay. Ruukki Tiilikainen steel roofing was used as the roofing sheet, says site manager Jori Sivula from Kymen Kattokeskus.
The four-person installation team was unanimous about the performance of the KINGI® roofing screw.
– I originally became interested in Kingi based on a YouTube video, and when KINGI® roofing screws were offered for testing, we wanted to try them. Everyone liked them, and there was no negative feedback. The screws were consistent in quality. Many times, other roofing screws vary even within the same box; there are poorer and better roofing screws included. If you get roofing screws from some bolt shop, the paint may come off already during installation and the screw may not drill properly, Jori compares the group’s experiences with roofing screws.
Kymen Kattokeskus Oy is a Kymenlaakso-based company specialising in roof renovations.
– We carry out roof renovations all year round and use cranes at worksites. The company was founded in 2007, and now we have 35 professionals. Our company specialises in roof renovations in Kymenlaakso; we have our own installation teams in Lahti, Lappeenranta, Kotka and Kouvola. Domestic origin, both in our work and in the products we use, is an important value for us, so the Finnish KINGI® would fit well into our selection, says Jori.
What did the installation team find good about the KINGI® roofing screw?
– The best thing about Kingi is its drilling capability. No force is needed when drilling with it. It is also good that the KINGI® roofing screw stays firmly in the bit and does not wobble. Kingi also has the advantage that it does not leave scratch marks on the surface of the sheet metal, Jori summarises the advantages of Kingi.
